30th May 2015, North Skelton Band took part in the Ripon Entertainment Contest. The contest was held in Ripon Cathedral with 14 bands taking part. The band played a 20 minute entertainment programme consisting of Cherry Pink, Magnificent Seven, Anthem from Chess (with guest vocalist), Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, and the Salvation Armys "Wearmouth March".

Although coming fifth the band did win the prize for best march. With the performance of the Salvation Army march "Wearmouth March", a march written in 1922 by the band conductors Grandfather.
